Dog and person looking at each other in mountains

Lyons Paws: Orca

Meet Orca. It’s no mistake that he’s named after a whale—at 130 pounds, he’s a big bundle of furry love! The largest guest at his little girl’s tea parties, he patiently balances pretty bows on his head while enjoying imaginary cakes and conversation. He has a tiny human brother too who can’t escape kisses at every opportunity.

This Newfoundland is a bit of an escape artist, often sneaking out to visit his neighbor friend to plan adventures, but is found fast as at his size one doesn’t stay inconspicuous very long!

When he’s not cuddling with his family, Orca loves hikes—especially up nearby Steamboat Mountain, playing in the snow (pushing his people’s sleds down snowy hills is his speciality!), lake swimming in the summertime, and snow, and snow, and more snow!

Orca is so big he even has his own Instagram account! Follow him and check out all his big adventures!

Lyons is full of interesting residents of the 4-legged sort as well, many of whom you’ve likely seen, or heard, around town. We hope you’ll help us introduce some of our furry friends in each issue by sending your pet’s photo and profile to editor.lyonsliving@gmail.com
